Diagnostics
The team’s work begins with a series of medical assessments aimed at outlining
the general, clinical conditions and the genetic susceptibility of the individual
in order to personalise the food regime and nutraceuticals, as well as the type,
the extent and the duration of the physical and thermal therapies.
The strategic food regime
The dieticians at Grotta Giusti create a nutritional plan that is based on the
results of the nutritional and metabolic assessment. The nutritional education
programme is designed to teach people how to eat properly and functionally according
to the genetic needs identified in the genetic tests. The prescribed foods are
amongst the best in the Mediterranean cuisine and are prepared according to the
instructions set out by Grotta Giusti’s ‘healthy cuisine’. The food regime is
provided by a doctor, who administers food supplements that are personalised,
with regards to ingredients and amount, according to the results of the genomic
susceptibility tests.
The thermal treatments
The thermal mud treatments (47°C) and steam baths (34°C) in the natural cave
represent the uniqueness of the Grotta Giusti programme. The sessions aim to transfer
the largest amount of heat possible to the body in such a way as to activate surges
ofbiological functions which lead to improving the body’s ability to
maintain its balance and health.
Physical activity
The Grotta Giusti team follows the guest every day during the physical activity
sessions, such as Qi Gong (which helps with psycho-emotional balance, improvement
of coordination skills, control of emotional-cognitive influences on the functions
of organs and metabolic fitness, and increases the aerobic ability and tone of
the muscles) along with physical therapy sessions, such as neuromuscular massage
aimed at somatovisceral
stimulation, and posture techniques or osteopathy for postural balance.
The specific exercises wield a strong, cognitive stimulation for the prevention
of cerebral ageing.
